Kenya Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation is a registered national sports organization at the Office of the Registrar of Sports under the Ministry Of Sports, Culture and Heritage.

Tong-IL Moo-Do is a Korean self-defense style which integrates techniques from different martial arts styles. The art is composed of Soft Circular Motion and Hard Linear Motion. It comprises of two areas; the external aspect which includes the physical fitness, basic techniques and comprehensive self-defence against armed & unarmed assaults, ground combat, breaking techniques, rolling and ballet; and the internal aspect which comprises of progressive character education and development which helps the practitioner to develop self-discipline, courtesy, indomitable spirit and self-control. The art enhances one’s health by keeping the body fit and strong.

The sport is trained to anyone from 3 years old, both male and female, young and old respectively. The two aspects of Tong-IL Moo-Do equip the practitioner with skills and capacity to overcome both internal and external challenges in life such as character related challenges as well as physical challenges. Character education is usually taught to students partly in our daily training and during special seminars which we conduct to our students and the larger community. We also carry out voluntary community service for peace to the society through peer education, youth counselling, clean-up exercises or any service required by the society for public good.

In Tong-Il Moo-Do training we also have the sportive aspect which brings people together from different parts of the world through tournaments. Kenya Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation has successfully held regional, national and international tournaments.

Most notably is the Mombasa Open Tong-IL Moo-Do International Martial Arts Championship now on its 10th edition is a World Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation accredited World Championship Status Event the only one of its kind in the WTMF international calendar of events with the name of a city in the host country. The event has been classified as one of the most exciting as well as amongst the toughest tournament in its global events due to the high number of young athletes from many nations. The event has been a great success due to support the federation has received from the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage and the World Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation. From 2013 to 2022, the federation has had the tremendous growth at all levels and have had the privilege of receiving the best training equipments and uniforms from the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage which have greatly improved development of our athletes as well as improve our ranking globally. This is one major milestone which has enabled Team Kenya be the team to watch in all international championships.

Apart from self-defense training the federation also organizes grading which are belt promotion tests conducted after a set period of sessions of where by a member is tested according to the requirement of a particular belt. This is of great importance because when one grades to black belt they become instructors who help in training and expanding the sport. A black belt holder is a World Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation certified instructor.

We have a great national team “Jasiri” which is second in the World Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation ranking. The team is composed of multi-talented players of both genders, young kids and adults and have been winning medals in all international assignments since 2006.

Tong-IL Moo-Do is the fastest growing martial arts in Kenya and our goal is to have the sport practiced and established in all 47 counties in Kenya.

Motto: Advancing bravely forward with discipline.
